ABOUT OUR FACILITY

The Mad Hand is in New York City but is set up to work with anyone anywhere in the world who can view digital drafts of their projects by e-mail.

For digital graphics we work on a Macintosh computer in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, QuarkXpress and other industry standard graphics applications as needed. We are equipped with all relevant hardware and software, and can work to the specs of any outside print shop, publisher or manufacturer. We have various media drives for back up, storage and transporting of clients' files as well as high speed cable modem for rapid exchange of files over the internet so clients can have access to their files in minutes.

For fine art projects, we are experienced in most media, and are expert mimics of most artistic styles. We do some photography.

RATES:

Because every piece of custom artwork is unique, there is no one pricetag for every project type. So the rates below are an approximate RANGE for the various types of work we do:

LOGO DESIGN:
$250 and up for vector based graphic created in Adobe Illustrator.

BUSINESS CARDS, STATIONERY (LETTERHEAD), AND ENVELOPE:
Accompanying a design of our creation: no charge
With your logo design: $80 and up depending on how many options you want, and the complexity of the design concept.

LOGO RENOVATIONS:
(recreating logos that have been lost, saved incorrectly or overly compressed, or digitizing previously hand-drawn logos, or vectorizing raster images): $60 and up depending upon the complexity of the image.

ADVERTISING DESIGN:
Full color ads: $80 and up depending upon the content source and design concept.
Smaller Yellow Pages style or newspaper style B&W or 2-color ads, or otherwise very simple designs: $40 and up depending upon the content source and design concept.

POSTER DESIGN:
$150 and up depending upon the size, content source and design concept.

BROCHURE DESIGN:
$300 and up depending upon the number of pages, content source, and complexity of design concept.

CD COVER DESIGN / DVD COVER DESIGN:
$300 and up (or down) depending upon many variables such as package style, artwork concept, number of booklet pages, number of overall components, amount of typesetting needed, and whether or not a sales royalty is offered. Though we will need to hear the details of your project to give an exact quote, for any ballpark, we offer flat rates, hourly rates and spec rates for CD cover design. Giving three rate options is intended to make our professional graphics production services available to everyone, regardless of budget. Flat rates are generally higher, but build in extra work hours while protecting the client against outgrowing their budget. With an hourly rate** you are charged only for the time you use. This is advantageous if the project is fast and easily done, or if you need to experiment and don't want to be limited by an hours cap. Spec (speculation) rates involve a minimal design fee and points on the record. Advantage: you get your dream design on next to no budget in exchange for a small percentage to the designer. Call or write us with your project specs and we'll give you an estimate: info@themadhand.com

BOOK COVER DESIGN:
$200 and up depending upon many variables such as cover style, artwork concept, and whether or not a sales royalty is offered.
